Marcus Olter (1625-1684) was a German organist and composer.

Life

Olter was born in 1625 in Meldorf, a town about 50 kilometers northwest of Hamburg.

In 1653 he was in Meldorf, in Dithmarschen, where he was the organist at the cathedral (St. Johannis church). Before the beginning of this post, he was probably already the organist at St. Stephen's Church in Tangermünde.

Marcus Olter passed away in 1684.
