Jacob Praetorius's compositions are found in the following sources:

  • His chorale-based works are found in various different manuscripts, including a fragment of a chorale fantasia in D-B Ms. Lynar B 5.
  • Three short preludes are found on one two-page opening in D-Lr Mus.ant.pract. K.N. 207-15a.
  • A magnificat set is found within the Clausholm Fragments in severely corrupted and fragmented form. Some attempts have been made to complete these works via editorial extensions (see references below).
