Analysis of the North-German Organ Works

Heinrich Scheidemann

According to Pieter Dirksen, the works Gott der Vater wohn uns bei and Jesus Christus, unser Heiland are considered dubious compositions by Scheidemann. These works have some typically-Scheidemann motifs and idioms, but they are handled in "an entirely untypical stiff and dogmatic manner". In addition, it has been noted by Michael Belotti that the chorales in these pieces aligns with those in the Görlitzer Tabulaturbuch by Sammuel Scheidt[7].
