Around 1981, manuscript 4708 in the Lowell Mason collection at Yale University was re-discovered by Wilhelm Krumbach. It contains various chorale preludes by several composers including Johann Sebastian Bach and other members of the Bach family. Later, the manuscript was also re-discovered by Christoph Wolff. This manuscript became known as the Neumeister Collection (the pieces within are called the Neumeister Chorales).
