The first page to the Preludium in G Minor, BuxWV 149, by Dietrich Buxtehude. The repeating pedal line starting with G G c (which is transmitted by this manuscript and other copied from it and its descendents) is visible.

D-B Mus.ms. 2681 is a manuscript held in the Staatsbibliothek, Berlin. It contains 14 Praeludiums, Canzonas, Fugues and Toccatas and one chorale work by Dietrich Buxtehude, and one piece by Johann Heinrich Buttstett.

Description

This manuscript may have been owned by Johann Friedrich Agricola, then J. N. Forkel, then Georg Poelchau starting in 1819, then the Königliche Bibliothek, Berlin starting in 1841.

The pieces contained are, in the following order: BuxWV 142, 153, 139, 140, 141, 171, 145, 176, 143, 168, a fugue in G minor by Johann Heinrich Buttstett, BuxWV 163, 156, 164, 149 and 213.

None of the pieces by Buxtehude within it are known to be copied from any other known manuscript.
