Werner Breig

Werner Breig (1932-) is a German musicologist. His dissertation, Die Orgelwerke von Heinrich Scheidemann, was published in 1967[1]. He was recently involved as an editor of the edition of complete organ works by Johann Sebastian Bach by Breitkopf & Härtel[2].

Professor Emeritus of Musicology, taught at the Universities of Freiburg, Karlsruhe, Wuppertal and Bochum. His work focuses on the music of Heinrich Schütz, Johann Sebastian Bach, Richard Wagner, and Arnold Schönberg. Werner Breig has published numerous publications and editions on the music of various eras[2]
